Celebrating 30 Years

Well, we can't believe it, but it's true.
M&M Studios has been open for business, for 30 years!
We had a party last week to celebrate with all our friends and clients.
It was a blast!
You can see all the photos from that night on our Facebook Page.

Mike and Marilyn Welch, Owners of M&M Studios

We took a few minutes and sat down with Mike, one of the owners of the shop, and asked him a few questions. The answers were pretty interesting, so we thought we would share them here.

1. What made you decide to open a frame shop?
Mike: “I worked for House Of Frames, opening new stores, and decided
I did not want to spend the rest of my life traveling the world.
So...I opened my own store.”

2. Anyone famous (celebrity) ever come into the shop?
Mike: ”Burt Reynolds and H. Keith Melton”.

3. Are there any clients from the early days that still come into the shop?
Yes, we have about 75% return customers! We are very lucky.”

4. What’s the weirdest thing you've ever had to frame?
Mike: “A picture made of human hair”.

5. What made you want to branch out into Giclee Printing?
Mike: “My love of art and wanting to help out the art community.”

6. Any other tidbits you want to share?
Mike: “You never know what might walk through our door to be framed!
We once framed a piece of the US Spy Plane and Mata Hari’s Costume.
We even made a mat out of some guy’s girlfriend’s pantyhose and lace bra!

We have the best job in the world!

Have a question for Mike? Leave it in the comments, we'll be sure he gets it.
